History
After starting life as a specialist affiliate of PartyPoker, one of the biggest and most respected names in the online poker world, Empire Poker were eventually bought by out by the firm in 2006. Since then, the site has taken advantage of PartyPoker’s experience to go from strength to strength, attracting customers in huge numbers and providing competitive poker games.
Reputation
Empire Casino has gained significant experience in the online gambling industry since its launch in 2002, working hard to attract its own large player pool through and inheriting more by sharing the same poker network as PartyPoker. Once thought of as a relatively stingy website, Empire Poker have now compensated by offering a series of special events, freerolls and generous sign up offers for new players.
Software and Graphics
The Empire Poker software allows players to quickly dive into the action thanks to an easy to navigate menus and a good search function. After inputting their preferences, players can then either be automatically seated at a table that matches their criteria, or be shown a list of suitable tables.
The poker tables themselves at Empire Poker all feature pre-rendered 3D representations of a poker game, with a fixed avatar placed at each seat. Although these graphics are starting to need an update, the lack of pressure they place on a computer mean players can easily multi table without their machine crashing mid game. Players also have the option of playing Blackjack and Roulette mini-games while they wait for their hands.
Poker Game Varieties
Empire Poker offer the full range of Texas Hold’em games, at Limit, Pot Limit and No Limit, along with both Pot Limit and No Limit Omaha and 7 Card Stud. All of these game varieties are available to play in ring games, for practice play, in Sit & Go tournaments and in regularly scheduled tournaments. There are also regular freeroll tournaments.
Sign Up Bonus and Reward Scheme
Although Empire Poker once had a reputation for offering poor sign up bonuses to new members, they’ve turned that around by opening up their bonus offerings. Unlike most online poker sites, Empire Poker offer bonuses which both offer a flat rate regardless of the amount deposited, so long as it is over a set amount, and also allow players to tie their bonuses to their online casino account.
Along with sign up bonuses, players gain entry to the same promotions as PartyPoker customers, ensuring that big prizes, seats in tournaments such as WPT and WSOP events and new bonus codes are always around the corner.
