In anticipation of federal laws on internet gambling being changed in the US, yet another online group is manoeuvring to take advantage of the expected legislation. The Las Vegas Hotel brand, Golden Nugget, has joined forces with Chiligaming to promote a cash free online poker site in expectation that playing poker online for money will eventually be made legal, and it is expected the site will go live in the next few months.
The Golden Nugget is one of the oldest Las Vegas hotel casinos, having opened for business in 1946. It has more than 2,300 guestrooms and is just one of several other gambling organisations in Las Vegas seeking to offer online betting services once the federal laws in Nevada are passed to allow players in the US to gamble online for real money.
In a press release, Chiligaming said its “proprietary iGaming platform, which enables it to connect to any poker platform or gaming content provider is a central feature of its US proposition and is designed to both facilitate swift entry into the market and maximize options for the Golden Nugget as the US regulatory and vendor landscape takes shape.”
The chairperson of Golden Nugget, Tilman J. Ferttita, said his company had been thinking of a joint venture for the last nine months and had considered over a dozen internet gambling sites. Golden Nugget chose Chiligaming because of its knowledge and skill in European online gaming and for its passion and talent that was by far above the other contenders. Ferttita further said “We believe that online gaming is inevitable in the United States and that the Golden Nugget will be well positioned to compete when US laws allow for online gaming.”
